Wanhuida Partners moderate INTA topics at Atlanta

The 2024 INTA Annual Meeting, which is convened at Atlanta, Georgia, USA from May 18 to May 22, 2024, is the largest annual IP gathering featuring over 9,600 registrants from 130+ countries around the world.


Five partners of Wanhuida Intellectual Property are invited to moderate table topics at the AM.


On 18th May, Partner Lei Yongjian moderates the session titled “How can the Procedures Impact the Outcome of Cases before the Trademark Office and before the Courts in China?” Participants from the US, Germany, and China discuss a slew of issues including the suspension mechanism before the CNIPA and the Chinese judiciary, new notarization and legalization practice under the Hague Convention, and other procedural approaches that can be utilised in various types of cases.


On 19th May, Partner Li Yunquan moderates the session titled “Positive and Negative Changes of Trademark Practice in China”.

On 19th May, Partner Cai Ye moderates the session titled “Market Survey and Its Role in Trademark Cases”. Ye and her fellow panelists have an engaging discussion over the role market survey plays in cases involving granting, affirmation and enforcement of trademark rights, and compare notes over the market survey practice in China and EU.

On 21st May, Partner and Management Committee member Jason Yao moderates the session titled “Strategies to Combat Counterfeiters Both Online and Offline”. The panelists share best practice of leveraging online platform surveillance and online & offline enforcement programs in combating trademark infringement, reaching the consensus that a combination of online surveillance, offline investigation & enforcement and litigation would maximize the effect of deterrence.

On 22nd May, Partner Yang Mingming moderates the session titled “Best Practices to Overcome Refusals Based on Relative Grounds: A Global Dialogue”. Mingming and his fellow panelists from the US, Belgium, Hungary, India and Mexico share best practice in strategizing and addressing issues arising from stages of trademark search, filing trademark application and responding to refusal decision.
